Up for sale is the Japanese LaserDisc release of The Sound of Music (1965), Robert Wise's legendary Rodgers & Hammerstein musical starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. Winner of five Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director, the film follows Maria, a spirited young postulate sent to serve as governess to the seven Von Trapp children, whose widowed captain she eventually falls in love with as Nazi Germany threatens their Austrian homeland. This is catalog number PILF-2044, a 3-sided CLV set manufactured by Pioneer LDC for Fox Video Japan, presented in widescreen (Scope/1×2.35) with THX certification and LD-G digital audio. This release is also a シナリオ・ディスク (Scenario Disc) with screenplay data encoded for compatible players. The full gatefold includes Japanese liner notes, film history, b&w stills, and a complete chapter listing.

This copy is in excellent condition. The cover is clean and vibrant with no notable wear. The OBI strip is present, intact, and in very good condition with no tears or fading. The inner gatefold and back cover are clean throughout. Discs appear clean.
