A Japanese documentary/drama film following the 1986 Paris-Dakar Rally — one of the most grueling off-road endurance races in the world, covering approximately 15,000 km from Paris through the Sahara Desert to Dakar, Senegal. The route map is prominently displayed on both the front jacket and the included insert, tracing the course through France, Algeria (Alger, Ghardaïa, El-Goléa, In-Salah, Tamanrasset), Niger (Agadez, Zinder), Mali (Gao, Bamako), Mauritania, and Senegal (Dakar).

The obi tagline reads: 魂に点火しろ。人も砂漠も、生きていた。 — "Ignite the soul. Man and desert were both alive."
