Content

The landmark 1984 film that preceded the formal founding of Studio Ghibli — widely considered the spiritual origin of the Ghibli era. Set 1,000 years after a catastrophic war reduced civilization, the story follows Nausicaä, princess of the Valley of the Wind, who seeks peace between warring human factions and the giant insects of the toxic jungle. A foundational work of Japanese animation and one of Miyazaki's most celebrated films.
