Un Chien Andalou is a 16-minute surrealist short film, the first collaboration between Spanish filmmaker Luis Buñuel and artist Salvador Dalí, and one of the most influential works in the history of cinema. Written from a combination of each artist's dreams and constructed deliberately to defy rational interpretation, the film features the iconic image of a razor blade slicing an eye — one of the most shocking and enduring shots in film history.
