About the Performance:

This gala commemorated the 25th anniversary of the Metropolitan Opera's residency at Lincoln Center, broadcast live on cable television and co-produced by NHK Japan. The extraordinary assembly of talent on a single stage — Pavarotti and Domingo performing together in the Fledermaus gala sequence — makes this one of the most star-studded operatic events ever captured on film, and one of the great DGG Video releases of the early 1990s.
